News and Events at Terraviva

Email Newsletter

We now have a weekly electronic newsletter - we keep it brief and informative. The newsletter is in 4 parts: a short Introduction about current seasonal gardening, New in Stock covering new arrivals in both plant life and homewares, This Week in the Garden to jog your memory about when and what to plant, when to prune etc, and This Week's Specials so you can save $$$ as you enjoy your gardening.

The newsletter is not hard-sell but it's all about Terra Viva as an information centre for keen gardeners. If you'd like to get this up-to-the-minute information on a Thursday afternoon just send off a quick e-mail to peter@terraviva.co.nz.

Gardening Demos

From mid August on we'll have demos every weekend on a variety of topics - hanging baskets, lawn care, container growing, vege gardening - or let us know if you have a particular topic you want covered.

Check out our competition and win $200 Spring Start-Up Garden Package - shrubs, bedding plants, potting mix, pots, compost etc

Floral Art

Yikes! What an old-fashioned term but what better way to describe it? Floral Art Workshop 2pm Saturday 18 August - Shirley, who many of you will know from the Giftware/Homeware area, is a trained florist, and will show you how easy it is to have great flower arrangements using fresh flowers, artificials, and foliage.

Landscape designer

Our landscape designer, Lynne Walker, of 15 years, has retired and we are delighted to welcome Sandi MacRae, who has won numerous awards, including a Gold Medal and Supreme Award for Design Excellence at Ellerslie International Flower Show 2012 for her design 'Casa de Vidro'.
